Embark on a transformative journey with the Rescue Diver course. Gain the skills to identify and address minor issues before they escalate, boost your confidence, and enjoy thrilling experiences along the way.

Thinking like a rescue diver is cultivated through a blend of self-paced home study and hands-on practical training spanning 2-3 days. Our course prioritizes flexibility and performance. Initially, you’ll master basic rescue techniques and then demonstrate their effective application in real open water scenarios (maximum water depth for training, 10 m). As an added bonus, our course includes a special presentation on dive medicine by Dr. Gabriel Idrobo, a hyperbaric specialist and PADI instructor, courtesy of our partnership with DAN. Many of our divers consider this course their favorite, providing the knowledge and motivation to pursue a career as a dive professional.

Requirements for the Rescue Diver Course

  • Minimum age requirement: 12 years old
  • Hold an Advanced Open Water Diver / Junior Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) certification, including full completion of the Underwater Navigation Dive component
  • Completion of EFR primary and secondary care training (or equivalent) within the past 24 months

Please note: If you lack an EFR certificate but wish to enroll in the Rescue Course, we offer EFR co-incident training facilitated by our PADI/SSI instructors who oversee the island’s decompression chamber. What better environment to learn in!
